it seemed to me that godard put a false cover on that book - i could have sworn that the title of it was "Film Noir." it is flashed a few times, but never clearly. at first i thought it was a book of film noir poster art (if those even existed in 1963), then when bardot opens it, you can easily see from afar that it is not.
it would seem a godardian thing to do...
