After Seeing This One...

...didn't you want the Duke to do more comedies?

"The Quiet Man" had lots of funny bits too.

North to Alaska was really funny too.

I had forgotten that one--yes, it was funny. I liked Hatari also, though it was a departure from the western.

A terrific comedy is "A Lady Takes a Chance" (1943) co-starring the Duke and Jean Arthur. I wish he'd done more like that.

Check out "Donovan's Reef."

"Dadoo4050: and who, disguised as a mild-mannered schoolteacher. . ."

The comedies are great. Though most of his stuff have some comey elements in them, even if it's not the main point. "Rio Bravo" is full of humor despite not being a comedy. Even some of his most serious ones like "The Searchers" even have thier humorous moments.

But if you like Duke Comedy, definatly see "Donovan's Reef"
