Actress who played college sister of Tom Bosley

The actress who played Tom Bosley's (Angie's fiance') sister who attends college looks is so familiar, yet, I can't place her. There were two sisters it the dinner scene at Bosley's (I don't recall his character's name in the movie) family home, and this is the sister who talks about her course in college on 'love'. I don't remember her character's name and therefore don't know which actress she is in the credits. Can anyone help me please? I recognize that voice and her mannerisms but can't place her for the life of me or in what other movies/shows/productions she has been.

Virginia Vincent played Tom Bosley's blonde sister Anna

Marilyn Chris played his brunette sister, Gina

she also played wanda wolek on one life to live, Her brother was Vinnie. She was so dramatic in that role.

reply

I believe that Wanda was Vinnie's wife. Anna was his sister and Larry his brother. Oh man, I am old.

Blondes and blue eyed Italians are not uncommon in the northern part of Italy...or maybe she was a brunette, who bleached her hair..??!

Nina Varela was Mrs. Columbo.

I don't see them as Bosley's two sisters. I see the dark-haired one as the sister and the timid blond as her Lesbian girlfriend. Seriously, I think this to be true. The scene and the two girls are so bizarre and off-center. Watch the scene again - only the dark-haired girl refers to the other as her mother. What would that Italian family be doing with a blond sister?

reply

I don`t know, perhaps their family , like mine, had a natural blond mother(100% Italian, and one brother(also with Blond hair and blue eyes). Its not as uncommon as you might think, even though your thinking is tinged with a certain stereotyping that I personally find offensive.I even encountered a bevy of Sicilian redheads, in Taormina;so please try to forget the tired media images of "what an Italian is supposed to look like"

reply

Or like my maternal grandmother, who had green eyes and red hair. Two of her sisters were blond with green eyes, one other also had red hair. Only one sister was brunette. They were all natural, and all African American. Think outside the box folks.

That's a silly thing to say.

Anyway, the mother looked very familiar. Does anyone know who the mother was in that scene?

reply

You can tell the dark-haired woman is also Anthony's sister, because, in Angie's kitchen, Angie's mother asked him how his sister was feeling, and, in Anthony's dining room, Angie also asked the dark-haired woman how she was feeling and she answered basically the same way Anthony did. They both had to be speaking about the same person, namely, Anthony's sister.

Never mind the sisters. Steve McQueen playing the son of immigrant Italians is also a huge stretch.

Who cares it was good! As Joe E. Brown said in SOME LIKE IT HOT, "Nobodies perfect"
