What if the skeletons had won?

Ok, just before the king threw down the hydra's teeth, he warned,"Hold the guards back, or they may die with Jason and his pirates". So, I'm thinking, if the skeletons had killed Jason and his men, there apparently was no way to control them and so there'd be a bunch of nasty skeletons running around that country killing people left and right. Didn't the king think about that?

I'm gonna ask a second time Jimbo. Are you serious.........or just incredibly high?

lol O.K., I'll take a stab at this. The Children of the Hydra's Teeth, angry at Jason for having slain the Hydra (and for stealing the fleece that the Hydra was protecting), kerbab Jason and the men that were with him, do a bony victory dance, wrap themselves in the fleece (the healing powers of the fleece putting some meat on their bones in the process), and with their boundless energy play for King Aeetes' Royal End of the Earth Soccer Team. Then they head back to the temple to party and watch Medea dance. King Aeetes licks his lips with satisfaction. Argos, who stayed behind to guard the ship, becomes a fisherman who enjoys casting his nets dangerously close to the clashing rocks. So there you have it. With Jason (and the men who were with him on the field of battle) gone, their bloodlust was sated. Now, what if Talos had won? would he wander that island forever moping around, or would he retieve the "javelin" and return to his perch as an eternal sentinel?

I don't know why, but that wording made me laugh.

This is a pretty old thread, but it makes me laugh.

It is curious though, you'd have some marauding band of skeletons running around killing folks. There aren't enough of them to seriously disrupt a a large city or country, but I can see some small villages being wiped out.

Conquer your fear, and I promise you, you will conquer death.
