Why was Emeline arrested?
At the end, they are in what I assume is a prison ward...why was Emeline in there? She didn't really DO anything.

shareIt's a hospital ward and the women marched in as visitors to the injured men.
shareYes and they were all wearing what looked like prison issue clothing...
shareYeah maybe so, at any rate Emeline would have been an accessory to the crime she could have left or reported any one of them to the police at any time. Even the nice ones were a little greedy....
shareBut she was known to have offered to split the money with Culpepper right after the moeny was found, which shows she sure wasn't interested in doing the legal thing and turning it in. That would have ended her chances of claiming she was just a victim through it all.
But I don't think she was in as much trouble as they others. In her case, with a good attorney, she might have been spared since her last-second change of heart was a moment of desperation based on her empty life, rather than greed. Maybe Culpepper could have testified about that. After all, what did she want? She wanted to go live a quiet, simple life of peace in a convent, not one of luxury. A court might have been sympathetic with that.
