Quite Possibly the Greatest Lead Performance of All Time!

PERFECTOION! I really believe this performance is as powerful as reality gets..only four performances shook me like Paul Newman's in Hud...Brando in On the Waterfront, De Niro in Taxi Driver and Raging Bull, and Stewart in It's a Wonderful Life.

Yeah back then being a "likable" character had a lot to do with winning. If this had come out this year we'd have a lock already.
