Highly underrated
Newman's best performance. Masterfully written and directed. The shots were spellbinding. The whole movie shook me to pieces. Deserves more attention and praise!!!

Don't get me wrong, great films tend to get less attention with the passage of time. But this film has never been called anything less than briliant. Its not underrated at all.

Terrific performances from the four leads
Sad to hear about Lonnie in real life . I recognised him as the kid in "Shane" . I checked to see the rest of his filmography to find he died as a result of an automobile accident at the age of 30
I'd agree. It certainly belong on top 250.
