Favorite Scene

When Homer and Lon are at the picture show and they start to sing “Oh My Darling, Clementine”.
The whole mood and tone of it made my chest sting.
Wonderful.

Yes a wonderful scene and a snapshot of a bygone era.

The scene when HUD returns with the kid to their home...the scene is so full of mixed emotion I can't even describe it.

The cattle liquidation scene has to be one of the most powerful, under rated scenes in the history of film.

Kindness...A little bit of it goes a very long way.

The attempted rape scene had me squirming. Patricia Neal was fantastic.

I liked the scene between Hud and Alma when they flirt in her room and she's like "the only thing my husband could do was get the itch I couldn't reach" and he's like "You still get that itch?"

Excellent writing, and performance to go with it. Just perfect.

Tough call, but I'd say from the time Hud and Lon go out for a drink to the time Homer gives Hud that emotional sucker punch is all-but perfect.

I really like the scene where Hud approaches Alma at the bus stop. Hud askes her to stay and keep working for the family. It was so shocking to see that Hud didn't realize how wrong it was to try to rape her. He just expected things to go back to normal. That scene gave me a womderful and terrifying insight into Hud. When he tells her that she would always be the one that got away it sent chills up my spine.

Do you want me, Gideon?
More than my next breath, Eva. You're my addiction... my obsession...
