I dont get that joke Tancredi makes. Angelica starts laughing out loud and the guests stand up and leave. The joke has something to do with nuns. Could somebody explain that joke to me please? please? please?

Tancredi said that all the nuns were old and fat, so they (Garibaldi soldiers) rather run upstairs without even thinking to rape them. He then added to Angelica (something like): "But if YOU were there, I would not care of shooting at all!"
Then she begun to laugh.

I saw the movie yesterday and the point of the joke is different that explained in the previous mail.
Tancredi said that the soldiers were not interested in the old nuns but would be attracted to "novices" (young nuns). Then he adds "but if you were there, than they would not think about novices". Quite direct and daring for the social gathering around the table. Angelica loves it, the aristocrats are appauled.
