Il Gattopardo II

People talk f a sequel being there are two unadapted scenes in the novel which take place later. I think a sequel twenty percent chances of being good. I think Coppola would do a good job, but, hey, he's american. Although... I think it would be interesting to have Alain Delon play Don Fabrizo. Tancredi is supposed to be a younger version of Don Fabrizio. So the actor now old would make a perfect Don Fabrzio. I think what the director should is ignore the first film, because he could never match the qualities of Visconti's film. He should make his own vision. What do you think?

I agree the director should take this in his own way because no two directors are alike. And if they tried to copy the previous directors treatment it would end up like A.I. which was bad but artificial. So ya have the director put their own spin on it.

Personally I think if they are going to make a sequel they should have Bernardo Bertolucci direct it. Because the sequel is more about the decline and rought of the wealthy, perfect for Betttolucci, (see 1900). I also think that for the new cast they should have Liam Neisan as Don Fabrzio and Leonardo DiCaprio as Tancredi.
