36-22-36 ... ah the 60's!
Do they really have the woman's measurements on the movie poster?
Yes, yes it's there. Next to the image of Suzanne Pleshette hugging Curtis. Just google images of the poster and you can see it.
shareI own one of the posters, and yes the measurements are on there. One day, when I was in college in a small town, the local theater decided to sell all its old marquee posters. I was in heaven. I found so many posters from favorite films of the 60's and 70's.
Forty Pounds of Trouble has always been a favorite. The film was very stylish in terms of its sets, location, music and costuming. Almost nothing about the film seems dated. Oddly, the poster is very dated looking. And not because of the 36-24-36.
Whatever, the film was pure joy, 60's rom-com escapism.
They put female measurements in LOTS of posters in the 60s.
I just can't think of another one, now. I do recall various actresses being introduced with their measurements.
Women's liberation hit pretty heavily in the 70s. The 60's were sort of a "last stand" for va-va-voom being so blatant.
But eventually...Baywatch.
Selling is selling..
