Disneyland as it looked in 1962

It is a great timescapsle on what the park looked like back in the early 60s, but lots of attractions that were featured in this movie still exists - the Monorail, the Matterhorn, Autopia, the various rides at Fantasyland, etc. Of course, as the years move on, it will probably look less and less than what we saw in 40 POUNDS OF TROUBLE, especially with the new Star Wars land now being constructed.

The Disneyland finale of this film was what we kids loved about it. Kind of like getting to go to Disneyland even when you couldn't.

Yes, it is a wonderful time capsule of 1962, and the Magic Kingdom of 1962. For that alone, this film is a treasure.

Going to Disneyland now days is a cluster-F of crowded-ness. It used to be that if you went on a weekday in the off season, you could escape the crowds and the lines. It hasn't been like that for a long while.

I miss the Disneyland of yesteryear.

The last time I was there was 2011. It was ridiculously overpriced and miserably crowded. Security guys were everywhere to tell you not to stand anyplace you happened to be standing. Double-wide baby strollers were jammed up everywhere. Lines took hours and hours, only for rides to be shut down just before you got there. The Disney atmosphere had grown less and less as the place became more and more Star Wars-ified. The place has been ruined, but I'm glad I was able to go in the '50s, '60s, '70s, and '80s.
