I have no idea how reliable that list is, but Peter Sellers comes in at #50... that's average box office, he's credited with 24 movies, Julie Andrews (#2) is credited with 7 movies, John Wayne (#1) has 19 movies...
Marlon Brando was paid $1.25 million for Mutiny On The Bounty (1962) potentially 2 years before Strangelove, so that should be the end of the story, Kubrik was just bitching...
BUT
There should be some accounting for Marlon Brando's antics on Bounty, which the Director Lewis Milestone claimed cost the production $6 million...
Is there a film where one actor/actress compensation was more than 55% of a film's budget? (talking bigger productions of course.) I suppose today's Hollywood cannot be compared with the 1960's, with profit/gross participation...
