This film will be shown in selected theaters nationwide. My understanding is this is being remastered to digital and will be in the original aspect ratio.
Check your local times as screening is twice each day.
I saw it today in my local theater. It's one of my husband's favorites and we've watched it a number of times at home. I wanted him to see it on a big screen.
I still enjoy Sellers' three roles, Scott's performance and my favorite quote: "Gentlemen. You can't fight in here. This is the War Room!"
Leaving the theater though, I was a bit unsettled, more so than after past viewing.
I also saw it this afternoon; was a bit miffed that they started the film right on time - usually theaters will play several trailers before a film, and I was running a bit late; I came in at the part where Buck was in the "Powder Room".
I recall having seen some pictures online showing Dr. Strangelove in a theater's marquee when it first came out, and imagined if I had a time machine, I'd buy a ticket and go see it on the big screen; well, I'm glad this happened in real life today, and I look forward to seeing The Shining next month in the theaters as well!
How I wish they would show 2001 like this!
Yep, I saw this yesterday at 2pm. I was literally the only one in the theater. I guess everybody else was seeing Sully.
This was actually the third time I've seen this classic on the big screen. I've seen it in '94 and '97 at my local one screen arty/independent theater.
But yeah, it was great to have my own private big screen viewing of one of the greatest comedies ever made.
Yep, going tonight to see if with a couple buddies of mine who've never seen it. I'm expecting it to be only us in the theater too. These events by Fathom I don't think are doing too well. I went and seen Snowden (Live) last Wednesday...there were only 4 people in the theater...my buddy and I and 2 others. That kind of stinks because I like seeing these types of movies in the theater. But, yep, can't wait to show the Doctor to my buddies tonight, should be fun!
