What does the ambassador say?

Does anyone speak Russian and can tell me what the ambassador says to the premier on the phone in the war room?

reply

Apparently not.

I asked this of a Russian friend. They looked at the scene and he's saying basically what you'd expect him to say: "I'm here at the Pentagon with President Muffley. He'd like to speak with you." Then after Muffley explains the situation, the Ambassador says, "It's me again....What?....WHAT!?!?!...They did it?....The fools!....I'll be in touch," in response to the Premier having just told him about the Doomsday Machine.

The thing that was interesting was that my friend said that actor Peter Bull (who plays Russian Ambassador DeSadskey) is speaking Russian with a British accent. This makes sense as he was probably taught the words phonetically by a British linguist working in England at the time of the filming. (I doubt there were too many authentic Russians roaming the streets of London in the early '60s.)

My friend also saw "Moscow on the Hudson" and remarked that Robin Williams did better than Peter Bull with his Russian, but that Williams had a slight American accent.
