The Title
I couldn't figure out what the title has to do with the movie. Is this another one of those old films where the title has absolutely no significance?

Since the film has many similarities to "Psycho" - including killing off the actress we've seen most of before the half-way mark - I suspect F.F.Coppola chose a name similar to that on Hitchcock's film to help sell it. "Dementia" means "mental disorder". The U.K. title was "The Haunted And The Hunted".

Just think about it, you will figure it out, if not, you can always look up dementia in the dictionary and find out the physical state it is.
