Two favorite quotes that have stuck with me

Both by Hepburn:
Was it not Shakespeare who said...
and
You know what's wrong with you? Absolutely nothing.

I'm waiting for the right moment to use them sometime...

"Don't let's ask for the moon-we have the stars"

reply

I recently tried the 'Absolutely nothing' response when a colleague asked if I knew what was wrong with me. Unfortunately, he didn't buy it!

(Incidentally, I'm supposedly too tall and it's intimidating! I happen to disagree, BTW!)

Laura, it's getting away from us again!

You see I already know too many people and until one of them dies i'm not interested in meeting anyone

"Shakespeare never said that!"

Two diplomats in an elevator, overheard by Hepburn:

Diplomat One: So I bluffed him with a pair of twos.
Diplomat Two: What's wrong with that?
Diplomat One: If I can do that to him, what are the Russians doing to him?

Diplomat One is played by Charade screenwriter Peter Stone. Diplomat Two is VOICED by Charade Director Stanley Donen.
