One Thing I Never Believed in 'Charade.'

There's one feature of this film that I never believed, even when i saw it as a kid. And it's one of those implausible things that takes me right out of the movie.

Audrey Hepburn switches immediately from one name to another with Cary Grant. No hesitation, no skips back into the previous name.

Only one?!

Two hours on the court and then an hour of constructive criticism.

Yeah, her quick acceptance at the name switching did puzzle me, but that didn't tear me up.

Her character was naive. It wasn't just with Dyle/Joshua and the other guys. She wanted to believe Grant's character was really who he said was. Dyle/Joshua was good at understanding that and taking her right where he had her long enough to get to the money. That was part of his charm.

Perry: "You, stop multiplying!"
