The tune played throughout the movie sounds almost the same as the title song of Bond film You Only Live Twice. It's strange i couldn't find anything about it on the intrenet, as if i had been the only one noticing it. The JB film was made 4 years later, so this one should be the original. Any ideas about the connection?

The main theme for "You Only Live Twice" is quintessential John Barry. That theme music is similar to "We Have All the Time in the World", the love theme from "On Her Majesty's Secret Service".
Henry Mancini's theme music for "Charade", "Sweetheart Tree" (from The Great Race), "Days of Wine and Roses", "Dear Heart", to name a few, all have his distinctive style attached to them. He seems to prefer a waltz time for his music.
Meanwhile i got the answer. It was the Hungarian dubbed version i have watched, and for some strange reason, the soundtrack was totally changed for it. I think sometimes the original can be heard too, but they have mixed it with music from several different movies, like James Bond, Platoon etc. I don't know why they did it, it's really weird.
