All these years on, and I've just only now seen it for the first time.

Having recently enjoyed Breakfast at Tiffany's, I couldn't resist giving this a go.

Here's my full review.

3.5/5 ???

Bah. This movie is totally an 8/10, a fun, entertaining movie with great surprises if you don't read who's in the movie in the first place.

Just re-watched it for the umpteenth time and it still holds up because I always forget all the twists. Sadly, this may be that one viewing where I finally retain all the twists in my memory. It was like watching it for the first time.

I'd say 3.5/5 and 8/10 are more or less exactly the same score. Good to know you like it. We agree on that, at least.

I agree that 3.5/5 and 8/10 are basically the same thing, but that irony suggests the futility and meaninglessness of judging movies by numbers, stars, or any other such system.

Oh, you way over-rated it. Charade is pure Hollywood garbage. Sexist as all hell, too. The theme song is excruciating. Cary Grant is a pig in it, and Audrey is a man-hungry twerp. Nobody would ever mistake this for a Hitchcock! 3.5 is way too high a rating. Maybe 1 star, for the pretty scenery.

I bought it quite a while back, it was bundled with Harvey, which was the movie I was really after. I just watched for the first time tonight. I agree with the 3.5/5 or 8/10 ratings the others gave. This film holds up to modern viewing remarkably well.
