Weird Scene

While watching this the other night I saw something I thought was really weird. In the scene where Frankie Avalon, John Ashley, and Jody McCrea are sitting at the table during the Dick Dale number, Jody leans over and appears to be blowing on or trying to smooch John Ashley's shoulder. It's right before Eva Six comes over to the table. Did anyone else notice this ?

Yeah, I noticed that too. It looked like he was smelling his shirt or something....strange... :/

Since John Ashley is looking off to his right, I assume
Jody McCrea is looking at the same thing. Probably Candy,
since she just danced by their table.
