shareUncle Joe bought it to add a touch of class to the lobby.
It made for a funny scene in (IIRC) season 1 when a guest thought it really worked.
They also used it as a jail once in the fourth season. I always wondered why they had the cage when it clearly wasn't a working elevator.
I am Fire. I am...DEATH!
Well Thief, where are you? Come now, don't be shy. Step into the light!
Wasn't there an episode where there was a strange guest staying with them? Uncle Joe started to wonder if he was an alien from outer space, and Kate of course telling how ridiculous he was.
The guest was trying to use the elevator and Kate told him that it wasn't a working elevator. She then goes into the dining room, and you hear a "whirring" sound, like the elevator was working. Kate gets freaked out and exits towards the kitchen.
Am I imagining this? I could swear there was such an episode. I'll have to do an IMDB search.
You're not imagining that Videoguy7579. I remember that episode exactly as you said. I've been watching PJ on MeTV and haven't seen it. I'm guessing it must be from season 4 since I've got seasons 1-3 on DVD and they're not on there. I missed a lot of season 4 episodes while watching them on MeTV, but have seen all season 5 and 6 episodes. After checking the season 4 list of episodes, I found it. The episode is titled "That Was The Night That Was."

Roland, that's a lilac bush!
Thanks, Flyboy and Joanna! I just skimmed through the YouTube episode, and I remembered the scene differently, (she was on the front porch saying goodbye to Floyd and Charlie and not in the dining room), but yes - that's it! Thanks.
