I doubt she passed it along to her kids. That jackass Steve was determined to beat (literally, not figuratively) all of that independence out of her, and keep her barefoot and pregnant.
shareA year after I originally started this thread we've gone through the NFL Spousal abuse concerns.
There were times when Steve seemed to want to hit Betty Joe. This wouldn't have happened on screen, but would the characters have had that type of relationship off screen. We'll never know!
