I'm actually enjoying the early black and white episodes, but...

...there is waaaaay too much Homer Bedloe and his ridiculous schemes.

I totally agree!!

Ive been enjoying them too, especially Jeannine Riley and Pat Woodell.

We need less of him and more about the girls.

I agree. Too many Homer Bedloe episodes.

I used to be afraid of Homer Bedloe when I was a little girl watching PJ!!! LOL!! I didn't like the eps with him in them!! I love PJ, but I could still do without Homer Bedloe, my least favorite character!

Bedloe was one of the best tv villains ever, played by one of the best character actors ever, Charles Lane. I much prefer his schemes and interplay with Kate, Joe and the girls against what the show became, a milquetoast attempt at a variety show/marriage sitcom.

Honestly, they should've pulled the plug on it after the 4th season with both Bea's health failing and Smiley's death. It was too much like they were trying to turn into The Smothers Brothers/Laugh-In after this point.

Tom Lester is supposedly producing/helming/co-writing a new version of this, maybe he will avoid what made the show do a belly-flop and focus on the family/Bedloe -- much more streamlined and relatable that way.

I don't know about that. I know a lot of younger people now that are curious about and interested in the older shows and how they were done. Even they are getting burned out on shows with shock value. You'd be surprised at how many young -- we are talking under 21 -- fans there are out there now of Chaplin and Lloyd.
