I just found out that he died of cancer in January.

The easiest thing i have ever had to do was give my heart.

MeTV did a nice little tribute for him right after he passed away and would have an "in remembrance" introduction at the start of the show. They also aired two episodes that focused on his character.

Pat Woodell (the original Bobbie Jo) also died either late last year or early this year.
