Meredith Macrae could not sing!

I just watched an episode where she went away to get a singing job-she came back with a record she had made ,calling it a rock and roll song. It wasn't. And she did a lousy job singing it. As a kid I thought she was pretty good-she wasn't. She was off key most of the time

Yeah! I don't want to say anything bad about her because I like her. But same here, as a little girl I thought her singing was good! I also thought she was prettier than she is!! IMO Meredith was the least pretty of all 6 girls ( Jeannine Riley, Gunilla Hutton, Pat Woodell, Lori Saunders and Linda Kaye Henning) were all prettier than Meredith IMO!

As a little boy, I thought she was the prettiest, too. But, then I saw it again about 15 years ago, and I was like Whoa who is this Bobby Jo (Lori Saunders). I said that to my friend that the hottest female ever was on PJ. He said Oh, I remember the blonde.

Is there something about blonde hair when you're a kid that you think it makes a girl prettier?

Her father was Gordon Macrae, singer-superb in musicals like "Oklahoma" and "Carousel."

He set the bar and perhaps no one wanted to suggest that her talent was somewhat less when it came to singing.

I always liked her and thought she brought something extra to the role of "Billie Jo".

I liked her in the "Frankie and Annette" beach pix too, like in "Bikini Beach".

"Don't call me 'honey', mac."
"Don't call me 'mac'... HONEY!"

I actually thought she had a nice voice. Here's a youtube link the shows Meredith singing with her father, Gordon MacRae. Meredith looks like she was around 11 or 12.

The one who had the amazing voice was Pat Woodell (Bobbie Jo #1). In fact, she was so good that she quit the show to pursue singing full time.

Pat Woodell had the most beautiful signing voice. Much better than any of the other girls.
