I'd place this in the top 10. It is very creepy and, in fact, one of the few times I have been scared watching something that I had seen before. The threat is not exactly rigorously consistent and free of plot holes, but it works.
Incidentally, I read the novel this is based on and it is not particularly good.

Also the chemistry between Robert Culp and Salome Gens is quite powerful. You believe they are a deeply in love married couple. Now if only the alien rocks didn't talk like British aristocrats.
