the Probe

This last entry is really quite inventive;

some creepy moments, but,in the main, intriguing concept of aliens trespassing our planet so they can appease their thirst for foreign experimentation.

Like Richman, whom I've met in the past, who's a pretty good actor when it comes to the paramormal such as TZ and the Borderland(fave)for OL.

The music is apropos and fits as a glove.

Fun,late-nite viewing....

Sorry to disagree, but I think this is one of the all-time stinker
episodes. Truly awful way to end the series.

I would not call it an all-time stinker, but I agree it was not the best way to end the series.

My opinion, for what it's worth, is that it was inventive and a stinker. The story made no sense, since the people made wild guesses about where they were and what was going on, and every one of those guesses turned out to be correct. Inventive, well, in a lot of ways, but Janos Prohaska as a giant microbe was unforgettable.

The persistence of Man's curiosity led him into new worlds. Without conquering his own, he invaded the sub-world of the microscope, and the outer-world of space. It is said turnabout is fair play… but is it?

"Oh, well" said Zanoni, "to pour pure water in the muddy well does but disturb the mud !"

Yeah, the giant microbe was quite impressionable !

I watched this because I read somewhere that it was like a predecessor or companion piece to "The Changling" episode on Star Trek (and remade as the 1979 movie). Pretty hard to find similarities other than the fact they both had a "probe" in the plot.

That said, this final episode is clearly an insult to the viewers. The microbe is unmistakably meant to look like a pile of , well, "#2".

If you didn't get that, they even threw in a scene where the actors get treated in tubes with some "lysol spray" and the woman says "it smells much better in here, not quite perfume, but better".

I think this was the producers way of flipping the world the bird for canceling the series.

That's just my humble opinion of course, sorry if anyone was offended by my reference to "#2" :)

Essentially what I like about the Probe is the premise aside from f\x and the rest is the concept that an alien race is picking up samples(as cattle mutilation ahem)on earth to study is fraught with possibilities in spinning a yarn...this is one of them.

Also Richman, whom I met once, is strong in the leading role. IMHO.
