John Cassavetes
...appears on Burke's Law no less than four times, including with his wife Gena Rowlands and a bit part for his pal Seymour Cassel. This seems kind of strange because Burke's Law, (while I love it), was hardly the type of thing Cassavetes preferred to do. But I read something that might explain his willingness to do this show so many times: After he'd directed the 1963 "A Child is Waiting", he got in a dispute with the producer, Stanley Kramer, that turned violent. He decked Kramer and found hyimself blacklisted in Hollywood. But, (I presume) Aaron Spelling offered him and his wife and friend work on this show. He might have been very glad and grateful to do these episodes, even though they were hardly his "cup of tea".
