There is a part in this movie when Vitti's character compares having men in your life to having mundane everyday things. I don't own the movie and I'm trying to think of what the quote was because I really liked it.

Well, I don't know how faithful the subtitles are, but it says something like "There are days when having in your hand a needle, a piece of cloth, a book, a man... it's all the same"
I'm sure you'll find many versions of the same quote since i translated this from subtitles in Spanish which are translated from Italian.
There is also the line when she says something like: "In order to make love you don't have to know one another. You don't even have to love one another." She addresses these words to Delon's character in his apartment towards the end.
