At the very end a cat is walking down a street littered with newspaper.One has a front page shot of the Doll House group and says they were all convicted and got life imprisonment but the photo is of them standing in the bedroom in the last scene right before Hallie gets hit by a bullet and killed.Included in the photo is the bed and you can see the footboard. So when they heard the police they stopped had a photographer come in and then they beat it? !

shareWhat I want to know is what exactly did they do to deserve "life imprisonment". Capucine was ACCIDENTALLY killed and then it was just by Jo's henchman yet even he wouldn't get life for that. That Jo ran a whorehouse - well I guess most of the Quarter would have known that but that wouldn't get such a super-stiff penalty either. There was never a suggestion that anything illegal beyond prostitution was going on or if there was, I missed it.
shareIf they hadn't gone there with the gun, Hallie wouldn't have been shot. Thus their actions caused her death. Not to mention holding Hallie against her will and beating up Dove. I'm sure there were other girls other than Hallie that Jo and her crew did those kinds of things to that would probably total up to life sentences.
