Time Compressed on TCM?

When they showed A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE on TCM on June 27 it appeared to be "time compressed" - ie: sudden movements by the actors were occasionally blurred which is ususally a time compression telltale. Did anyone else notice this? Don't know why they would do this given that they don't have to squeeze films into a certain hour format like a commercial network.

The technology on TCM is the worst of any cable station. Do you notice how many times the film gets "stuck", as if on pause? I wonder if it's my cable system, or TCM itself.

TCM doesn't time compress or alter films. It's their trademark! I think you guys have poor cable providers.

if you were watching this on Brighthouse or Timewarner cable then it is their fault and not TCM's.

Nope, TCM doesn't edit, compress, or alter letter-boxing.

Must be your provider. Sorry to hear that.
