Are there any other films....

Centering around someone telling a destructive lie other people readily believe without question due to their prejudices?

Definitely The Children's Hour (1961) with Audrey Hepburn and Shirley Maclain. This movie has a child character that is as despicable as TKaM's Scout is wonderful.

No, one of the biggest problems with society today is people like you who still insist that sexual orientation is a choice that people make.
I feel that there is a greater element of choice surrounding sexual behaviour than there is about race, which makes race a more fundamental issue than sexuality. Race is a state of being. You are born into it and will be classified according to it irrespective of what you do.

By contrast, sexuality - while it may be genetically determined and beyond individual choice - is not a meaningful classification unless people choose to act in accordance with their sexual orientation. A person may be biologically heterosexual but it is pointless to classify him or her as such unless he or she actually engages in heterosexual activities.

That said, I think it is inappropriate to discriminate against individuals because of their sexuality. Everyone should be treated with respect.

Yes, try "the hunt" starring Mads Mikkelsen. The story is based on a lie a little girl told the town.

In "A High Wind in Jamaica," a little girl throws a crew of pirates under the bus, but she was a child and they were pirates.

reply

Pirates are murdering gangsters with a pretty boat. "Under the bus" is a good place for them.

This bunch were about as nice as pirates get which is still pretty bad.
