lancia aurelia B 24, convertible

Lancia Aurelia B 24: a cult
That is the name of the fabulous car, the very main character of this movie; it's a light blue colour cabrio (roadster); a 1/24 nice model (with Donald Duck as a driver) is made by Burago, common to find in italy; 1/43 detailed models (different colours) are made by the main miniature car builders. just try an internet research.

reply

yeah! that's a wonderful car! i prefere the lancia Aurelia to the Alfa from the "the graduate". what about you?

reply

actually i'm a car model collector (miniatures of course!) (1/43-1/18 best)(by the way the correct scale of the Burago is 1/18); maybe you're right, and Aurelia is very difficult to see on the road, alfa romeo are easy to find everywhere (at least in Italy): Who is better, Catherine Zeta Jones or Gwineth Patrol) i lust for both............

reply

funny. it goes from car talk to lusting after american beauties.

reply

Haha, they are actually British.

I prefer the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider... red.

"What if there is no tomorrow? there wasn't one today...!"

reply

I prefer the Karman Ghia. Cheap, disposable, fun, unpretentious, adorable, easy to tune, and mechanically simple. And really dumb girls always thought it was a really hot sports car.

reply

What's up with the noticeable paint patch repair on the right side of the car in the movie? Couldn't they find a better condition B24 for the film?

reply

The idea was that Gassman was something of a reckless driver (the fender), and maybe, the car was nicked (the rectangular patch).

reply

Does anyone have an trivia/information on the in-dash record player in the car?

reply

Very good question! I have wondered the same thing. The first time that I watched the movie, I did a double take. I had never seen one of those.

reply

Me too! That was so cool!

reply

Gwyneth is American--just thinks she's British.
