Corman strikes again

The films of Roger Corman adapting Edgar Allan Poe are always a delight.
This is another stellar entry.

The sets, setting, atmosphere, all work.

The actors did really well. The fear/dream sequence of Guy being buried alive, was really well done.

The ending is left unresolved, but makes for interesting conversations.

Awesome film.

Yeah I remember watching his films as a kid on saturday afternoons on an old b/w TV. It led me to the books and stories of Poe which were equally thrilling .

reply

Very nice. I might delve into Poe in the future.

We had saturday afternoon B movies on cable too. Was that a national thing or just a few stations? Erie and Detroit in my case.

reply

it was before cable, and it was a local UHF station out of Philly, with local ads and a host.

Wasn't Jack Nicholson in some of those movies early in his career? Mid 1960's?
