What about the kid?

*** SPOILERS ***

Towards the end of the movie, after Dorothea has moved "Junior" into her parents house, she goes back to retrieve his Christmas presents so he will have them as soon as he wakes up the next morning. While there, she reconciles with her husband Ralph, and decides to stay. Neither of them mentions "Junior" who is still with her parents, without his presents, and probably wondering where his mother is.

I wondered about that, too. That boy shouldn't have been neglected like that.

They would have had to show up before he woke up, along with the gifts. And they had company over. It would have been a rushed morning for them if they did it that way.

After the end of the film, they went back and got him...just wasn't shown except in the super-rare extended version 

He'll get over it.
