For those interested in the Ship

The Ship, originally created for this movie, now rests in Boothbay Harbor Maine. I was just there yesterday, and I must say, It is magnificent. It recently appeared in Pirates of The Carribean Two, and is undergoing a complete restoration. They are currently working on the sides, and underside of the ship, replacing wood, filling holes, cracks, etc. and painting it. I may have pictures when I return home, I took quite a few. If anyone has any other questions, about it, I 'll see if I can get some more infornation.

Oh geez, I was up in Maine on my honeymoon at the begining of August but didn't know this (on a positive note I did get to see Old Ironsides on our trip). There's 2 different replicas of the Bounty aren't there? I thought about doing the internship in high school they offer on the tall ship Bounty but never got the nerve to apply for it.

The other one for the Mel Gibson film, is in Sydney Harbour doing small cruises.

That's a cool piece of info. One of my favourite scenes in this movie is when the ship leaves port, the sails are raised & they hoist up the Union Jack. Wish I could find it on DVD tho...

I actually managed to get aboard the Bounty yesterday- VERY cool. And a lot of fun. The launching, on the 9th (Johnny Depp's birthday :-P) was also a lot of fun, with my friend playing Jack Sparrow as a special surprise. He borrowed my pirate coat and gun for the costume, making me feel quite special.
Its going to be in the harbor until July 2nd (Hopefully, if they get everything done they need to).
