Rate The Music Man (1962)
Now I know where the song Shipoopi came from when I heard it on The Family Guy. I foolishly thought it was an original song for the show. Robert Preston was born to play Professor Hill, it seems ideally suited for his talents, the words just roll off his tongue like they were exclusively written for him. Shirley Jones is gorgeous and has a really beautiful voice. Strong production and the music is very good, too. I have to say, as unfair as it may seem to single out a child actor, I didn't like Ron Howard very much at all. I found him kind of annoying but I do love several of his films behind the camera. Overall a strong film. 83/100
