I know there is a musical where a guy just hops around his neighborhood. I don't think there were any lyrics in the song. -------------------------------- I did sixty in five minutes once...
You just posted this question a few days ago. It sounds like the movie you're referring to is WEST SIDE STORY. It could also be the Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly flick with music and lyrics by Adolph Green and Betty Compton: NEW YORK,NEW YORK. (I think that's the name of the movie, but I'm not certain. I do know that those were the principal actors and composers so if you google them, that will direct you to the movie which lists those principals.)
I think you're referring to Bobby Van's "Pogostick" number where he is literally hopping around all over town. That was in Small Town Girl, a Jane Powell musical from 1953.The number was a bit of a sensation in it's day, being so unique.I think part of it was used in one of the That's Entertainment compilations, perhaps That's Dancing.
The film is indeed SMALL TOWN GIRL. The number is called "Take Me to Broadway." The Gene Kelly-Sinatra film referred to is ON THE TOWN, based on the Broadway musical with libretto & lyrics by Adolph Green and Betty Comden. Music by Leonard Bernstein.
