Most Actors are Dead in this
With the exception of Ron Howard; Shirley Jones and Susan (the mayors daughter) the rest of the cast has died.
How sad :(

Yeah- this movie was filmed in 1961 and released in 1962- 49 years ago ! Your point is ????????????????? It is STILL the BEST !!!!!
shareno need to be rude i was just saying it is sad. and it is the best.
shareWell thanks for reminding me, I'll be 49 in two weeks.
In time Ron Howard and Shirley Jones will also die. You too, Sweetie.
I agree - it is sad. Especially Robert Preston - he died too young.
Yeah, my honey Bob notoriously smoked like a chimney, and it was no surprise to me that he died of lung cancer. But, he will live forever as Harold Hill.
I think you mean "Most actors in this are dead"!
RIP Heath Ledger 1979-2008
It is a fifty year old film........

Really? They all looked so lifelike. Which ones were dead?
"It ain't dying I'm talking about, it's LIVING!"

We don't know for sure that Monique Vermont, who played Amaryllis, is dead. Last I checked, there was no info on either her birth or her death. I wouldn't be surprised if she was still alive.
Monique Vermont, French Canadian, was 9 at the time she was in the Music Man...don't know her birthday. She is founder, producer, director, choreographer and creative manager of Art of Dance Theatre and Academy in Norfolk, Virginia.
shareSure, they may be dead, but some put up a good fight. Mary Wickes, Hermoine Gingold, especially, Charles Lane had long lifespans.
One reason so many have died is that much of the prominent cast were fairly old at the time of filming. Compare to It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, which was made about the same time.
