Presuming the last number was a fantasy sequence what do you think happened after the boys played for their parents?
Would Hill have stayed on in the town and been the band leader or would he have moved on to another town?
What about him and Marian? Would they have stayed together?

I agree with Phantom2-2, but not TheGuyWithTheFeet. It is a musical comedy after all. Marian did for him what he had done for others - showed him his true worth and gave him confidence. Also they loved each other. If he were going to leave, he would have done it before the law caught up with him. He stays, marries Marian, realizes he is a natural born band leader, and helps raise her brother. And they bang each other at the honeymoon suite in Gary, Indiana without an audience.

That is what I like most about musical comedies. They make you supply an ending or a "What do you think happened after the end " scenario, which makes movie watching so much fun!
