loved the clothes in this movie

I watched this on tv I think back in the 70s and fell in love with George Hamilton
but I remember absolutely loving the nightgown the mother wore and just recently saw it again on TCM
Robert Osbourne commented that De Havilland's fashions were designed specifically for her by Dior himself
how amazing is that

Absolutely agree, the clothes were beautiful! Ms. de Havilland was so elegant, she did justice to the Dior pieces. I especially loved that royal blue dress on her, and I very much liked the head piece/veil that Yvette Mimieux wore during the wedding. One of the reasons I love these older movies, is to see the beautiful clothing.

Dior died in 1957. He had an assistant, St. Laurent, who took over, followed by Marc Bohan, I think. Much nicer than today´s.styles.

Don't forget the outfit Mimieux had when she had her hair up and was crossing the street alone...including a skirt with appliqués of birds!
