The song during the ending credits with lyrics of 'journey to the seventh planet' ♫ greatly reminded me of the theme song from Trail of the Screaming Forehead http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0486665/ And it may have been an homage to Journey to the 7th Planet

I was reminded very much of Frankie Avalon's song "VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA", except that was over that film's opening credits, while Otto Brandenburg's song was over this film's end credits.
