Was hoping....

Cinemark could've shown this on the big screen for the 50th anniversary as part of its classic films revival series. Maybe they'll bring it back to the big screen sometime in the future, but I don't know if Cinerama films are meant only for those curved big screens.

Yes Cinerama films are meant for those big curved screens. There are only a handful of theatres in the world equipped to show the few Cinerama movies that were made. In the USA as far as I know one is in L.A. and the other in Seattle. There's one in the U.K. An actual Cinerama presentation requires 3 projectors and a special curved screen made up of hundreds of thin vertical strips. The Seattle Cinerama owned by billionaire Paul Allen shows Cinerama films fairly often. He owns a print of HTWWW. If you're only going to see one Cinerama film HTWWW is without a doubt the best and is a very good film in any format.

I've always wondered why the restored Blu-ray version of the film isn't shown on big screens which show 70mm films- it's a much better image than true Cinerama, but it's still fun to see the film at least once in true Cinerama for the historical aspect of it.

That's what I suspected. Thanks.
