I agree wholeheartedly with you. I've been hoping we'll see a region 2 release sooner or later, but it just never emerged.

Yes I know it's out on reg 1 but us in Europe always get things about ten years behind the states!
You'd think whichever foolish company which owns the rights to this great film would pull their finger out and release it in a lavish 2 dvd set before all the crew and actors die off!
There's a French DVD, so why not a UK dvd sooner or later. And you can just buy the Region 1 DVD.
shareI hope there would be a UK DVD but it doesn't look likely yet.
And I can't buy the reg 1 dvd if it isn't sold on websites can I? lol
I bought the region 1 dvd on a website. The dvd was released by Criterion, so it still sould be easy to get.
shareIt's never sold on ebay uk though which is where I get my obscure films.
I wish it was - people would make a killing!
hint hint...
If you're not willing to buy it where it's available, you can't complain about not having the film !
I'll put my dvd on ebay uk as soon as a blu-ray is released. Apparently I could make some money...
I can complain because Criterion's own prices are hugely over the top and I won't pay £30 just for a dvd. That's ludicrous and why I wouldn't get it from there even though they have undoubted quality in putting together dvds. You might have the money for that lavish expense but I don't dude so no need to judge without knowing the facts.
shareIt seems that it's about to be released for the Eureka Masters Of Cinema collection! I pretty much jumped out my seat when I saw it in their catalog.
