I couldn't have been the only one who thought that Lynch's motivation in this elaborate scheme was to help the Asian woman pay for her son's medical bills.
Turns out that direction was a bit of a red herring?
I enjoyed this film throughout, but I kept waiting for the reveal at the end as to what Red's motivation was. The Asian woman with the son? That'd make sense, I suppose, if we were told that the boy was Red's child. Otherwise, it does seem like something that was just tacked on, almost as filler.
Maybe we were just supposed to assume that, and having never read the book this is based on, I can't say for sure.
Popcorn said he was trying to arrange to leave the country but I don't recall more than one ticket or other complex arrangements.
