The Odd Couple
Did anyone notice the pairing of Jack Lemmon (Felix in the film "The Odd Couple" and Jack Klugman who was Oscar in the TV version)?

shareYes, that's an interesting factoid. Of course, maybe if they continued in that vein, it would be titled "The Enablers" instead of "The Odd Couple."
shareJack also replace Walter Matthau in the Broadway play. Art Carney played Felix

I hadn't seen the movie in some years and was surprised when Klugman showed up in the hospital.
At that moment, I had an Odd Couple flashback that briefly took me out of the movie. It took some time to re-orient myself; Lemmon and Klugman are both so inextricably tied to the Simon play/movie/tv show.
To God There Is No Zero. I Still Exist.
Sort of like viewing the grim war film ATTACK and noticing Buddy Ebsen (Jed Clampett) and Eddie Albert (Oliver Wendell Douglas) in the same scene.
shareI remember feeling the same way when I watched an old Doris Day Film, "With Six You get Egroll." Toward the end of the movie, the actor's who played Klinger and Father Mulcahey in MASH were both playing hippies.
