Was Lee Remick's Role Originally Intended for Marilyn Monroe?
This part seems like it would have been tailor made for Marilyn Monroe. I wonder if she was the first choice for this film?

shareThat's what I heard, too. I would have liked to see Monroe attempt this role. But, Remick did an awesome job of course.
shareI could see Monroe doing it, talent-wise. But her image would have gotten in the way. Also, by 1962, it would have been a stretch for MM to be convincing as fresh young secretary.
Monroe was briefly considered for "Anatomy of a Murder" which Remick did. Again--Marilyn would have been very good, but her image was too established.
Lee Remick was a gorgeous woman, so talented. She saves this film for me.
