I'd have to agree with wtl47, the Martians seemed to have won that round.
I'll avoid more spoilers and just add that I kept expecting Rod Serling to begin a voiceover letting us know that we've been hanging out in the Twilight Zone.
With an outstanding score, as others have pointed out, I enjoyed the film. Certainly a B listing, budget wise, but well crafted.
