American movie with the same plot?
I believe there is an american version (maybe from the 70s, 80s) of this movie too - I was watching it with my parents back in UssR when I was a kid - does anyone know the title of it?

The closest movie I can think of fitting your description was a series called The Mam from Atlantis airing from 1977-78 starring Patrick Duffy. Ring a bell?
